Inspiration
As I began designing for the ‘Éphémère’ collection, I knew that I wanted to use color and light as the basis for design. It seemed natural to turn to Matisse and other Fauvist painters as inspiration because of their use of color as the foundation for expressive paintings. Color, line and form created loose interpretations of light and space, while Matisse’s cut-outs were an appreciation of form and composition.
